Wilma Wisener Obituary

Funeral services for Wilma Gay Wisener, 65, of Cushing will be Sunday, 2:00 PM September 26, 2021 at Dickie Allen Funeral Home with Bro. David Coleman officiating. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Wilma Gay Wisener passed away Monday at her home with her family and loved ones at her side. Wilma was born September 22, 1955 to Andrew Carpenter and Lela Estes Carpenter in Cushing, Texas. Wilma was raised a Baptist and was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church in Cushing. Growing up she would not like to wear shoes. On her wedding day, her mother had to check to make sure she wasn't barefoot. She was a caregiver for most of her life. Wilma would take those that were unable to the grocery store, beauty shop, and doctors appointment. She enjoyed cooking for people and though at times when even a few people were at her table "she would cook for an army." Her family and friends alike loved her homemade German Chocolate cake, chicken and dumplings, and pinto beans. They say she was "late for everything" so much so that they would tell her one time hoping she'd arrive at the right time. Wilma loved her grandchildren and was a avid fan of their activities including basketball, football, and baseball. She loved to make mums for homecoming, too. In addition to the time she spent with her family she was also a Cushing Band Booster for over 20 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband J. L "Dummy"  Wisener. She is survived by her daughters Sandi Rachealle Knight (and husband Lee) of Cushing, and Carla Hendrickson of Mabank, and brother-in-law R. L. Wisener (and wife Lisa) of Melrose. She also leaves behind grandchildren A. J. Knight, Joseph Knight, Breanna Knight, Skyler Cummings, and Kelton Robertson, and great grandchild Luke Cummings.

Pallbearers will be Richard Johnson, David Johnson, Dustin Johnson, Joe Mac Lewis, Michael Cole, Sam Laurent, Jerry Brown and Devon Randall.

Bethany Baptist Church in Cushing will be having a repast for the Wisener family at 12:30 PM Sunday preceding the service. All are welcome to attend.
