Willie Mae Jones, 82, of Dallas and Alto, passed away on February 5, 2023, in Jacksonville, Texas. She was born to Mr. Will York and Mrs. Lodie De William York on July 18, 1940, in Alto, Texas. Willie loved talking, drawing, and eating, but most of all she enjoyed helping others. Willie leaves her loved ones with unforgettable memories and loving stories. She will be sincerely missed by her loving family, devoted friends, and all the wonderful individuals who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Will and Lodie De York; her loving husband, S.D. Jones; sister, Delois Guliford. Willie is survived by her children, George W. York, Wendell Lekeith York, Regina Bertrille Green and her husband Michael, and Sadalia Maria Jones-Williams and her husband Alton Williams; her play daughter and very dear friend, Sheree Slater and children Janay, Jarod, jasmine and Jia ; brother, George York; grandchildren, Antigonee Sharanda Mosley and husband Michael, Michael Ward Green Jr., Manishia Greene, Makio Deonte O’Brien Houston, and JaVante Dajosen Jones and wife Ashley; great-grandchildren, Ladavius Greene, Mardavius Greene, Zuhri Jones, Jadarian Jones, Asia Jones, Boston Jones, Jacian Jordan Houston, Michael Mosley, Jr., Kamoria Mosley, Andre Mosley, and Josiah Mosley, her cousins Cecil “Peter” Verdell and Rita Joe Mitchell, Cecil Jr., Yolanda, Petie, Pug, Elaine, Checkary, Kenny, Howard, Kelvin, Annie, Rodney, Jerome (Sandra) Visitation will be Monday, February 13th from 6-8 PM at the funeral home in Alto. Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 14th at 2 PM at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Howard Verdell and Rev. Kenneth Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery.
