Wilene Marie (Gresham) Dempsey

Wilene Marie Dempsey (nee Gresham),86, of Pasadena Texas passed away peacefully on April 1,2025, at her home.  

There will be a visitation on Sunday, April 6th from 4pm – 6pm at Dickie Allen’s Funeral Home in Cushing Texas. 

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 7th at 11am at Dickie Allen’s Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at McKnight Cemetery.  Arrangement are by Dickie Allen’s Funeral Home.

Wilene was born on May 26, 1938 to Ellis ‘Dude’ Gresham and Rose Marie Gresham.  She was a graduate of Cushing High School where she met the love of her life, George David Dempsey.  They married in 1959 in Houston Texas.  They had three loving children, George Terry, Jeana Ann and Dana Denice.  She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She was affectionally known as “MaBear” to many, especially to her grandchildren, Robert David Utter, Ashley Marie Utter, Grace Nicole Utter, Ryan George Dempsey and Claire Louise Dempsey.  Her grandchildren were a source of true joy.  She adored them.  Her eyes would light up when they entered a room.

Wilene is preceded in death by her husband George Dempsey, her father and mother, her brothers, Troy Gresham, Jimmy Gresham, Gary Gresham and David Gresham. 

She is survived by her son Terry Dempsey and his wife Marsha, daughters, Jeana Dempsey, Dana Utter and her husband John, her brother, Damon Gresham, her grandchildren, Robert, Ashley, Grace, Ryan and Claire and her sisters-in-law, Martha Gresham and Sue Dempsey, and many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

The family would like to extend a huge thank you to her caregiver, Jasmine Miles, for taking such good care of our mother for several years. It was a true blessing.    We would like to thank Harbor Hospice, especially nurse Kathy, Pastor Tim, Deb and Lisa.  Thank you for the care you gave to our mother.   Thank you to our neighbors, who always watched out for her, we are truly grateful. Terry and Dana would like to also say thank you to our sister Jeana Dempsey who was the most loving caregiver, nurse, friend and daughter to our mother.
