Warren Shely , 88, of Alto, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 17, 2023. Warren was born September 11, 1934, in San Antonio, Texas. He married Delores Mueller on December 1, 1973 and together they raised 7 children. They were married for 49 years. When he first came to Alto he was a carpenter, a butcher and owned Shely Café in Alto. Warren retired from Cherokee County Precinct 2 as a foreman. His hobbies were fishing, hunting, and drinking coffee with his buddies. He was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge for 50 years. Warren loved babies and his family. He was preceded in death by his parents Warren and Delia Shely, siblings Ray Shely, Herman Shely, Margie Magee, Mildred Carney, Dorothy Shely, Jean Foust and Darlene Tosco, granddaughter Leah Couch, great grandson Cameron Robinson, son Mark Mueller and son-in-law Gary Langford. Warren is survived by wife Delores Shely of Alto, children Caye Lyn Langford, Cynthia Ann Robinson and husband Bruce, Warren Edward “Bubba” Shely and wife Cindy, Dennis Mueller and wife Leslie, Karen Tullis and husband Gary, Dana Black and fiance Mark Blalack. Pallbearers will be Josh Robinson, Justin Patrick, John Patrick, Marqus Langford, D.J. Mueller, Beau Reece, Chance Loden and Cory Hudson. Numerous nephews and great grandsons will be honorary pallbearers. A funeral service will be held Monday, August 21, at 11 AM in the Alto Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Robinson officiating. Bro Tim Ross of A Frank Smith Methodist Church will give the eulogy. A visitation time will begin at 10 AM at the church. There will not be a graveside service.
