Graveside services for Troy Ellis Gresham, 90, of Houston will be 11:30 AM Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Cushing City Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 AM Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Dickie Allen Funeral Chapel in Cushing, Texas. Troy Gresham passed away July 10, 2021 at his home in Houston surrounded by his family. Troy Ellis Gresham was born to Ellis "Dude" Gresham and Rose Marie Fuller November 15, 1930 in Sacul, Texas. He lived there until he joined the United States Air Force in 1948. He married his wife, Ruby Gresham in 1950; they were married for 59 years before her passing. Troy Gresham was a charter member of the Uvalde Baptist Church in Houston. He was a member of the Lions Club and enjoyed helping others. He attended the University of Houston and obtained his Bachelors Degree where he also became a devoted Cougars fan. He loved Houston sports. Among his favorite teams include the Astros, Rockets, Oilers more than Texans, and became an Aggies fan, too. He even coached little league baseball. He traced family genealogy for years and could always be counted on to relate an update on Gresham history at the annual Gresham Family Reunion. He was also a big supporter of Smitetrain.org which was one of his favorite charities. Troy was a big family man. He was a hard worker and instilled that in his children and grandchildren. His family knew him as the consummate provider. He showed love and care for his family immensely. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ruby, brother Jimmy Gresham, and nephew Doug Gresham. He is survived by his son Randy and his wife Angela Gresham of Crockett, daughters Laurie and husband Michael Patterson of Kerrville, and Caroll Duncan of Houston; brothers Damon and wife Betty Gresham of Longview, David and wife Martha Gresham of Cushing, and Gary and wife Kim of Vermont; and, sister Wilene Dempsey of Pasadena, Texas. He also leaves to celebrate his life, grandchildren Todd Duncan, Emily Duncan Tobar and husband Eric, Madilyn Patterson, Mason Patterson, Kyle Gresham, Brent Gresham, Hannah Gresham, and Sam Gresham; great grandchildren Andrew Duncan, Llewelyn Duncan, and Duncan Tobar.
