Sheryl Ann Penney

Cushing – Funeral services for Sheryl Ann Penney, 57, of Cushing will be Tuesday September 11th, at 10 am at the Dickie Allen funeral home chapel with Bro. Mike Williams officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm at the funeral home on Monday. Burial will follow at the Fenton Cemetery near Cushing. Sheryl was born August 31st, 1961 in Nacogdoches, Texas to Dallas & Annie Ruth Arrington Mason. She had lived all her life in the Nacogdoches area and in Cushing for the last 22 years. Sheryl had worked as an activity director for various nursing homes in the area and also worked as a private care sitter. She had helped run the Penney Meat market and loved hunting and fishing. She was a Christian. Sheryl was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donnie Penney and sister Glenda Russell. She is survived by daughters Kristi Chambliss (Kevin) of Crowley and Kassandra Leggett of Keachi, Louisiana, son Josh Leggett of Cushing, husband Daniel Holden of Nacogdoches, sisters Sheila Mason of Cushing, Marta Vargas of Cushing and Linda Walls (Jeff) of Carthage, brother-in-law Carl Russell of Mt. Enterprise, grandchildren Austin, Crystal, Britney and Oran, great grandchild Brayden as well as 1 grandchild “on the way.” Pallbearers will be Timothy Hartman, Michael Cole, Dalton Phillips, Clay Penney, Brian Delafield and Austin Chambliss. Honorary pallbearers will be Oran Chambliss and Josh Williamson. The family has asked that memorials be made to a cancer survivors scholarship fund that will be set up at the Texas Bank & Trust in Cushing.
