Ruby Joyce “Tot” Wade, 90, of Cushing, Texas died Monday June 22nd in Cushing, Texas. She was born July 8th, 1929 in Cushing, Texas to Archie and Goldia Byrd Mixon. Most of her life was spent in East Texas, with the majority that time spent as a homemaker and provider for her family. She loved cooking and preparing for her family whenever they got together. She especially enjoyed having all the grandchildren and doting on them. Her cooking was also enjoyed by her Church family and friends. Her chicken and dumplings and dressing were often requested at events and gatherings. Another passion of hers was quilting. She and some of her friends formed a quilting group that met at the Cushing Care Center. That later led to a quilting group at Landmark Baptist Church where she quilted until she was no longer able. There was often a quilt frame set up in her house where she made quilts for each of her grandchildren and even some of the greats. Being outside was another enjoyment of hers. Most pretty days you would find her weeding, digging, and planting flowers in her flower beds. Occasionally you would even catch her mowing the lawn. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Olan Wade, daughter Dena Jo, sister Marie Lucky, and brother Keith Mixon. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Ronnie and Paula Wade of Henderson, Texas, Donald and Norma Wade of Nacogdoches, Texas, Bob and Belinda Wade of Cushing, Texas; sisters Tena Delafield, Sylvia Schulamier, and Patricia Martindale, grandchildren Dana Wade, Deanne Novero, Aaron Wade, Kaylon Wade, Leslie Ball, and Sara Phillips; great grandchildren Kaci McNabb, Ally Novero, Jesse Novero, Gracie Wade, Carter Ball, Callie Ball, Cannon Wade McNabb and Jacie Cole; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and other family.
