Ronald Edward "Ronnie" Nix

A graveside funeral service for Ronald Edward “Ronnie” Nix, 71 of Alto will be Friday at 1 PM at the Muse Cemetery near Slocum. Ronnie passed away Sunday, May 12, in Jacksonville. He was born November 27, 1952 in Houston, Texas to Woodrow and Leavon Silvertooth Nix. Ronnie had lived much of his life in Houston, and the last 30 years in Alto. Ronnie was a Christian and loved studying his bible, hiking and gardening. He was retired from Brown and Root Construction in Houston and had also worked at the Rusk State Hospital for 10 years. Ronnie was a graduate of the University of Houston. He was preceded in death by his parents. Ronnie is survived by his wife, Kelley Robertson of Alto, Daughter Lauren Balkcom and husband Luke of Alto, sisters Sandy Koimn and Susan White and grandchildren Gavin Balkcom and Tatum Balkcom. No visitation is scheduled.
