Richard M Hartless, 79, of Wells, passed away on June 27, 2024 at Woodland Heights Hospital in Lufkin, Tx
Visitation will be 10:00 am Monday July 1, 2024 at O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Home in Alto.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Monday July 1, 2024 at O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Home with the Wes Matchett of First Baptist Church in Wells, officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Wells, Tx.
Richard was born Trinity, TX to Viola Flowers and Raymous Hartless on November 1, 1944. He went to school at Wells, TX. He worked as a Logger/ Heavy equipment Operator for 60 years. He was a loving and caring father, grandfather, great grandfather and husband to his wife Sharon of 60 years.
Richard enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid Bowhunter as a member of the Cherokee Bowhunter’s Club. He truly enjoyed participating in the many Bowhunting trips to South Texas and fondley spoke of them often.
He took pride in being a steward of the land. Whether it was working with his tractor or riding around on his “wheeler” looking for what needed to be done next.
He touched the lives of everyone he came into contact with, with his humor and laugh, which will be greatly missed.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Raymous and Viola Hartless, daughter, Marianne, brother, R.J. Hartless, and sisters, Elma Rae Foot and Hazel Henderson.
Richard is survived by wife Sharon Hartless, daughter Alicia Brewington and son-in-law Andrew, daughter Rebecca Batson and son-in-law Chris, Son Kevin and daughter in law Gemma Hartless; Son Acara and daughter-in-law Amie Hartless; 10 Grandchildren and 5 great-Grandchildren
Pallbearers will be Kenny Hunt, Conner Hunt, Carson Hunt, Joe Hodges, Josh Dew, and Tim Bartlett.
