Penny Millsap, 84, of Alto, passed away on July 31st, 2025 peacefully in her home.
Visitation will be held at 10am on Tuesday August 5th at The River Church in Alto.
Funeral services will be held at 11am, following visitation, with Pastor Ron Rose of The River Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Old Palestine Cemetery. Arrangements are by O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Home.
Penny was born in Forest, TX to George H. and Evelyn Harrison on June 22, 1941. She went to school in Alto. She owned a cleaning business for many years in Houston before returning home to Alto and becoming a caretaker of all types. Before dedicating her life to babysitting and raising countless children, she worked as a CNA that ultimately prepared her to later care for her mother and husband in their final days. She was a faithful member of The River Church where she served in the nursery for over a decade. Penny lived a life of sacrifice and servitude, and stored her treasures in Heaven.
Penny is preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Millsap, her parents, George H. & Evelyn Harrison, her brother, Terry Harrison, and her son John Allen Link Jr.
Penny is survived by her children: Chucky Bates and wife Priscilla, Suzanne Stevens and husband Don, Troy Bates and wife Jody, Chierra Stahl and husband Paul, Trevor Millsap and wife Denise, Ronnie Hannah and wife Haley, Amber Bates, Jaqulyn Carter and husband Kevin. Her grandchildren: T.R. Bates, Joshua Bates, David Stahl, Jesse Stahl, Maquela Jackson, Parker, Kailee, and McKinzee Millsap, Rory, Holt, and Grayson Hannah, and Adalyn and Phoenix Carter. Her sisters: Janet Yoba and Shirley Francis, and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, great nieces and nephews, and countless people that she impacted in her beloved community.
