Graveside funeral services for Paulee Akin, 101, of Reklaw will be held Saturday, September 12, at 1 PM at the Walker Chapel Cemetery near Reklaw with Bro. Shak Arrington officiating. There will be a visitation time from 12 noon until service time. Mrs. Akin died Saturday, September 5th, in Jacksonville. She was born December 4, 1918 in Reklaw, Texas to John Samuel Irwin and Emma Young Irwin. Mrs. Akin had lived most of her life in Reklaw and was a member of the Reklaw Church of Christ. She was retired from Rusk State Hospital and loved quilting and working in her yard. Paulee was preceded in death by her husband Hudman Akin, son Jimmy Akin, grandsons Jared Akin and David Lee Akin, granddaughter Raina Perry, brothers Lee, Ernest, Luke, Hawkes, Grady, Onon, Johnny and Paul Irwin as well as sisters Edith Martin and Era Mae Irwin. She is survived by son Jerry Lee Akin and wife Sandra of Rusk, daughter Zina Perry and special friend Chester Odom of Gallatin, grandchildren Alan Akin, Shae Perry, Cody Perry, Jordan Akin, Michelle Joyner, Sherron VanCamp and Kristi Hall as well as many great, great-great and great-great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Flowers can be delivered to the funeral home in Cushing from 12 noon until 5 PM Friday.
