Graveside services for Norma Glenice Stewart, 86, of Cushing will be 12:00 PM Monday, January 10, 2022 at McKnight Cemetery in Cushing, Texas. Visitation will be Sunday, January 9, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Dickie Allen Funeral Home in Cushing. Norma Glenice Stewart passed away at her home in Cushing Thursday evening January 6, 2022. Norma's daughter and son-in-law who moved to Nacogdoches to care for her until the end. Norma was born to John H. Williams and Lillie Ethel Clark on January 30, 1935 in Groesbeck, Texas. She married her huband Charles Stewart on July 14, 1951. She lived and worked in Houston before moving to Cushing where she has lived for forty years. Norma worked as a caregiver for the Cushing Care Center for almost 16 years and later at Rusk State Mental Hospital for 10 years. She was considered to be thoughtful and kind. Norma was also an animal lover. She could make a friend out any four-legged creature. Norma was also famous for her cooking. She was a bonefide "scratch cooker" as they say. Everyone that knew her enjoyed her creations. Norma was an Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and all five of her siblings. She is survived by her son Jerry (and wife Sharon) Stewart of Houston, daughter Charlene (and husband Neil) Swenson of Nacogdoches, granchildren James Clayton Stewart and Jennifer Ashley Stewart, and great grandchildren Hendrix Knox Stewart, Baer Mikey Stewart and James Henry Tatsch.
