Graveside funeral services for Nellie Margie Bell, 90, of Spring will be held Monday, August 24, at 2 PM, in the Lynches Chapel Cemetery near Alto with Bro. Tommy Mabry officiating. No visitation is planned. Nellie was born October 20, 1929 in the Jones Chapel Community near Alto to Charles William Bostick and Willie Mae Wallis Bostick. She moved to Houston in 1947 and went to work for Southwestern Bell in 1948. She had retired from Southwestern Bell in 1986 as a Cable Splicing Foreman. She married Edgar Bell January 14, 1949 and he preceded her in death July 13, 1992. Nellie was a loyal Astros fan and loved traveling. She treasured her grandchildren and enjoyed watching them grow into young adults. Nellie had volunteered at a store whose proceeds were given to the battered women’s shelter of Montgomery County. She loved traveling to Alto to visit and care for the farm. Nellie was also preceded in death by her brothers William Bostick Jr., James Bostick, Robert Bostick and Leon Bostick and sisters Mattie Vann, Lola Ownby, Ila Mae Bradbury, Martha Cammack and Bernice Lightner. She is survived by sons Ronald Bell of Florida and Gary Bell and daughter-in-law, Caren, of Cypress, grandchildren Christopher Bell and Caitlin Fleury and brother Harold Bostick as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Christopher Bell and Connor Fleury will serve as pallbearers. Linda Moon will be the soloist. Memorials may be made to Lynches Chapel Cemetery 224 C.R. 2920 Rusk, Tx 75785. Please dress casual and wear you Astros shirt/hat, Nellie loved the Astros!
