Mildred Louise (Tillie) White

Mildred ‘Tillie’ Skinner-White, 92, of Lilbert, TX, passed away on February 1, 2023 in Garrison, TX.

Tillie was born in Sacul TX to Chester D. Skinner and Verdie Lee Champion on December 18, 1930.  In her early years she attended Sacul ISD, before graduating from Cushing ISD.  She married Wendell Dean White on April 20, 1949 and they were married for 54 years. She was a home-maker for many years, though she was more widely known for her years of service as the local newspaper carrier for the Daily Sentinel where she was awarded TX Rural Carrier of the Year as well as a  Postal Carrier for the USPS. She was a member of the Methodist Church and Order of the Eastern Star. 

Tillie is preceded in death by her parents Chester Skinner and Verdie Skinner, her loving husband Wendell White and son Richard ‘Ricky’ White, her daughter-in-law Renee Webb White, and brothers Buddy and Tommy Skinner.

Tillie is survived by sisters Maxene Skinner of Humble, Hazle Sorters of Beckville, and Patricia Moore of Nacogdoches; Sisters-in-law Laverne Skinner of Humble and Barbara Skinner of Houston; Children Jody and Jeania White of Mt.Enterprise, Steve White and Melissa Russell of Lilbert, Wyndi and Van Vaught of Mt. Enterprise; Grandchildren Christel and Chris Wells of Willis, Casi and Matthew Grimes of Mt. Enterprise, Cole White of Mt. Enterprise, Brandy Davis of Cushing, Tracy and Gary Crumpton of Lilbert, Jennifer and Wes Hand of Nacogdoches, Cheyenne and Justin Doles of Mt.Enterprise, Savannah and Will Barton of Garrison; Great-grandchildren Presley and Kennedy Wells, Dhailon Phillips, Ashlyn and Cason Little, Austin and Eddie Davis, Landon and Gavin Crumpton, Gentry and Grayson Hand, Halle and Camden Doles, Kinley and Jeremiah Barton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and many friends.

Pallbearers will be Cole White, Dhailon Phillips, Austin Davis, Landon Crumpton, Eddie Davis, Gavin Crumpton, and Cason Little.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Donny Moore, Rusty Skinner, Marc McMurtrey, Kelly Owens, Jason  Moore, Jeff Skinner, Lester Hudson, Mike Skinner, and Bob Sitton.

Memorials may be given to Blackjack Cemetery, Lilbert TX

Visitation will be Sunday February 5, 2023 from 5-7 P.M at Dickie Allen Funeral Home in Cushing TX.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday February 6, 2023 at Dickie Allen Funeral Home with the Brother Clint Johnson officiating.   Burial will follow at Blackjack Cemetery in Lilbert.  Arrangements are by Dickie Allen Funeral Home.
