Memorial services for Levan Threadgill, 78, of Texarkana, Texas, will be 10:00 AM Saturday, October 2, 2021 at The Dapper at Park Place in Texarkana, Arkansas. Levan "Sonny" Threadgill passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021 in Texarkana, Texas. Levan was born May 28, 1943 to Booker Hunt and O.T. Threadgill in Texarkana, Texas. Levan went to Booker T. Washington High School in Texarkana, Arkansas where he played basketball. He enlisted into the United States Army at the age of 18. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to Texarkana to work for Lonestar Ammunition and Red River Army Depot. He moved to Dallas where he worked for Houghton - Mifflin in production. He later worked for and retired from Krogers in Dallas. Levan spent his free time painting, reading, learning about all things history. He loved sports and especially the Dallas Cowboys. Levan also enjoyed cooking, barbequing, and frying fish. Always the kidder, he made people laugh by telling jokes and teasing others. The love of his life were his children and later in life he expressed that by calling them every day. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers John J. Abbot, Raymond Walker, Sr., and Charles Walker, Sr. and sister Obbie Saffold. He is survived by his son Anthony Eric Threadgill, daughters Tia Threadgill and Amber Threadgill, sister Gennel Walker, and granddaughter ZaVale Collins. He also leaves behind a hosts of nieces and nephews. His absence will be felt by all those that knew and loved him.
