Funeral services for Kimberly Dale Matlock, 58, of Cushing, will be 10:00 AM Monday, September 6, 2021 at New Faith Church in Sacul, Texas. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Sunday, September 5th at Dickie Allen Funeral Home. Kim passed away Wednesday at Nacogdoches Medical Center with her family close by. Kim was born September 19, 1962 in West Berlin, Germany to Fred and Joyce Hooper. Kim lived in Sacul, Texas until she passed away. She was married to Garland Matlock and they raised two sons together. There are no words to describe the love she had for her boys . Kim loved taking care of people and spent her life caring for others. She worked as a file clerk for the FBI in Tyler, she worked as an EMT, and she went on to become a nurse, and continued as a caregiver for the elderly. Kim had a big heart and is said to be the "sweetest of all the five sisters". Generosity was her gift and she gave it freely. She would always greet you with a Holy kiss. Kim was a great cook and her rum cake is legendary and rivals her fried chicken and even her deviled eggs. Whatever she made was made with love. She will be missed on the "sister's weekend", camping in the Ozarks, and lunch at "Momma and Poppa's". Kim particularly enjoyed fishing with her grandchildren. Thanksgiving and July 4th were some of her favorite holidays. Kim was a Christian, kind, forgiving, strong, resilient, a well-loved woman, and will be truly missed by all those that knew and loved her. Kim was preceded in death by her mother-in-law Zelda Pearl Matlock. She is survived by her husband Garland Matlock of Sacul, her parents Fred and Joyce Hooper, sons Jacob (wife Laranda) Matlock of Cushing, Clarence Hilton (wife Kelly) Matlock of Sacul, and Mark Matlock of Cushing. Sisters Cynthia "Cindy" (husband Michael) Chappell of Longview, Debbie (husband Dan) Rose of Houston, Laura (husband Jim) Bryan of Lowell, Arkansas, and Amy (husband Calvin) Summers of Fort Worth. Grandchildren Brandon (wife Destiny) Matlock, Hallie Matlock, Gage Matlock, River Matlock, Case Matlock, Aubrie Scott, and Seven New, and great grandchildren Jakobee Ward and Georgia Matlock. She was loved by a host of nieces and nephews too numerous to name.
Pallbearers will be her two sons and four sisters.
