Kennon Ray Richards, 73, of Houston, Texas, passed away on March 19, 2025, at St. Lukes Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. Kennon is under the care of Dickie Allen Funeral Home in Cushing, Texas.
Graveside Services for Kennon will be held on Saturday, March, 29, 2025 at 11:00 AM, at Stonewall Cemetery in Douglass, Texas.
Kennon Richards was born March 9, 1952, in Houston, Texas, to Naomi Whitaker of County Line and Charlie Richards of Garrison. He lived with his family in Third Ward in Houston, Texas. He was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. He attended Turner Elementary and was a proud Jack Yates High School “Lion”. He was known to be excellent in mathematics and sketching pictures. He worked as a “jack of all trades” and enjoyed being the life of the party. He will always be remembered as a “die-hard” Dallas Cowboys fan and known to ride a place or two with his Cousin Steve.
Kennon is preceded in death by his mother, father, and step-father, Willie Ray Ruffin; sisters Alice Faye Chatman, Loweda Richards, and Judy Kennard; brothers Dwight Richards, Gary Richards and Raymond Burgess. He is survived by his sisters Willie Jeanette Lewis, Donna Subulade (Johnson), and Mary Ruffin; brothers Roland Ruffin and Dexter Ruffin (Tam). He will be forever and forever missed by a host of nieces and nephews, and lifelong friends.
