Joe Allen Stringer, 78, of Nacogdoches, passed away on October 13th in Fort Worth, Texas.
Visitation will be 1:00 on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at Dickie Allen Funeral Home in Cushing, Texas.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at Dickie Allen Funeral Home in Cushing, Texas with Dr. Jerry Jones of Nacogdoches Community Church officiating.

Joe was born in Nacogdoches to Thurman W. Stringer and Bessie Mae Williams Stringer on October 11, 1946. He went to school in Cushing. He worked for NIBCO for 35 years as the Machine Shop Managing Supervisor.
Joe and his brother, Phil, owned The Saw Shop in Nacogdoches on Ruby Street. They provided machine shop and blade sharpening services to many residents and businesses in the area. Many of their customers were poor and Joe and Phil would sharpen their scissors, kitchen knives, or hoes at no charge. They would often be repaid in fresh vegetables.
Joe was also a mason and a member of the Sharon Shrine Temple of Tyler, Texas. He married Lenda Thackerson on November 15, 2002.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents Thurman and Bessie Mae Stringer, and brothers Lloyd Malvin
(Pete) Stringer, and William Filmer Stringer.
Joe is survived by his loving wife Lenda Stringer, daughter Kay Reid, daughter Catherine Higgins
and husband Thomas, daughter Angela Rodgers and husband Shay, son Chris Allen Stringer and wife
Kristy, brother Phil Stringer and wife Elaine, grand-daughter Kimberly Reed, 13 other
grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, niece Cheryl Ann Smith and
husband Cecil, and nephew Scott Stringer and wife Christi.
Fellowship and refreshments will be served at Sacul Community Center following funeral services.
