Funeral  services for Joe P. Pitman, 86, of Cushing will be Thursday, December 16th, at 11 Am, in the Dickie Allen Funeral Home Chapel in Cushing with Rev. Steve Newton officiating. There will be a visitation time Thursday morning starting at 10 AM. Burial will follow the services at the Cushing City Cemetery. Joe passed away Monday, December 13, in Nacogdoches. He was born December 20, 1934 in Cushing, Texas to William Henry and Affie Mae Payne Pitman. Joe had lived in Cushing for the last 22 years after living in Nacogdoches and Houston for many years. He was a graduate of the University of Houston and had worked as a lineman for Houston Light and Power while attending college. Joe later worked for several years as a Certified Public Accountant. Joe loved woodwork, antique cars and reading. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Ruth Bravenec and brothers Tom Pitman and Eugene Pitman. Joe is survived by wife of 66 years Norma Pitman of Cushing, sons and daughters-in-law Joe Glenn & Carol Pitman of Huffman and Kenneth Lee and Liana Pitman of Houston, sister-in-law Betty Barrett of Bullard, grandchildren Jamie, Micah and Kirby as well as 3 great grandchildren.
