It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving husband and devoted father, Joe Allen Pitman. He passed away on March 15, 2025 in Nacogdoches, Texas. His memory will be forever etched in our hearts. Joe was born May 14, 1952 in Nacogdoches County to James Henry Pitman and Nellie Bailey Pitman. A graveside service was held Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at Pierce Chapel cemetery in Cushing, Texas, where his friend Rev. James E. Young officiated.
Joe is predeceased by parents James Henry Pitman and Nellie Bailey Pitman. Brothers, James Pitman, Arlie Pitman, Marlin “Pete” Pitman. Sisters, Mary Loftin, Doris Bailey, Bettie Birdwell and Janell Lazarinee.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Julie Pitman of Nacogdoches, Texas. Daughters Kristin Lekas (Shannon) of Cushing, Texas, Melissa Stini (James) of Nacogdoches, Texas. Sons Thomas (Christina) of Keller, Texas, Michael Tubbs (Donna) of Nacogdoches, Texas. Grandchildren Camryn Kimmey (Daniel) of Huntington, Texas, Jonathan Tubbs of Lufkin, Texas, Emily Tubbs of Keller, Texas Elizabeth Tubbs of Ithaca, New York, Seth Lekas and Jacob Lekas of Cushing, Texas. Great Grandchildren Sawyer, Mikey and Cooper. Brother Bill Pitman (Lana) of Cushing, Texas and sisters May Mitchell of Palestine, Texas, Jenny Lou Nichols (Jackie) of Cushing and Judy Penney (Johnny) of Laneville. Nieces, nephews and extended family.
