Jesse Wayne Furra

Jesse Wayne Furra. 88 of Cushing Texas, passed away on December 2, 2024 in Nacogdoches, Texas.  

Visitation will be held one hour prior to service, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, Friday December 6, 2024 at Dickie Allen Funeral Home in Cushing, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday December 6, 2024 at Dickie Allen Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Butler officiating.  Burial will follow the funeral service, at McKnight Cemetery.

Jesse Wayne Furra was born in Nacogdoches, Texas to Mark & Buna Furra on January 13, 1936.  He went to school in Cushing.  He never married.  He worked at Dobbs Feed Store and hauled hay in the community, for many years.  He enjoyed scrap booking and visiting with people in his community.  

Jesse Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Mark and Buna Furra; Brother, Marcus Autrey Furra; Sister and Brother-in-law Thomas Albert Self and Melva Joyce Furra Self; and Nephews, Thomas Albert Self, Jr. and Otis Gene Lanning.

Jesse Wayne is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family. 

Pallbearers will be Roger Castleberry, Chris Lanning, Christian Castleberry, Kerry Vaught, Todd Vaught, Thomas Albert Self III, and Shane Vanderburg.

Memorials may be given to heart-to-heart hospice.  The family of Jesse Wayne wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Westward Trails Nursing Home and Heart to Heart Hospice for their excellent care of Jesse Wayne.
