Jason was kind and loving, his heart was as big as Texas. He never met a stranger that he couldn’t become friends with. His favorite pass time was being outdoors, at the river, sitting around a campfire with family and friends and enjoying nature. He enjoyed working as a carpenter, working outside in the fields with animals.

He is survived by his mother, Vera Williams from McKinney, TX; His sister, Nina Williams and her children, Christy Williams, Hallena Williams and Evan Huerta, all from McKinney, TX; his son, Jaden Smith, from Trinity, Texas, and his mother, Amanda Smith, and her parents, Cecil and Cheryl Smith, from Troup, Texas, and son Jason Barber Jr., from Trinity, TX ; his brothers, Jesse Barber from Trinity, TX, and James Franklin Barber and his family, from Gladewater, TX; his grandparents, Carl and Glenda Fisher from Lufkin, Texas; and his best friends / “Brothers”, Jeremy Pierson, from Cold Springs, TX and Josh Stringer-Smith from Cushing, TX; and numerous cousins.
I want to extend my gratitude to his church family and Pastor Toby Self for all the support and help they have given me during this difficult time. They accepted Jason as their own family and for all of this I am very grateful…. …Vera Williams
