Janie Ruth (Ward) James

A graveside service for Janie Ruth James, 83, of Diboll and formerly of Alto, will be Tuesday, July 12th, at 11 AM in the Kitchen Cemetery near Zavalla. Janie passed away July 7 in Lufkin. She was born May 1, 1939 in Houston, Texas to Clyde Ward and Ruth Laurent Ward. She had lived in Alto for several years and in Huntington and Diboll the last few years .Janie had worked as a nursing aide in various nursing homes and was a Christian. She was preceded in death by sons Jimmy Wayne Powell and Michael Joe Powell, daughters Jeanette McAdams and Janice Faye Powell, sister Rowena Mae and brothers Bobby, Melvin and Orville Ward. Janie is survived by son Jerry Powell of Diboll, brothers Elton Ray, Floyd and Roy Harrison Ward and sisters Wildrae Irene, Lela Darlene and Dollie Fae as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. No visitation is scheduled
