Funeral services for Harrison Holcomb Black Jr., 80, of Alto will be Thursday, March 30th, at 11 AM in the O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Chapel with Pastor Stan Roberts officiating, burial will follow at the Shiloh Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Harrison passed away Sunday, March 26 at his home in Alto. He was born November 28, 1942 in the Shiloh Community to Harrison Holcomb Black Sr. and Alva Verna Holcomb Black. He lived most of his life in Alto and graduated from Alto High School in 1961. Harrison attended the Intercontinental Church of God. He was retired from Westcraft where he was machinist and had worked most of his adult life with his best friend Gerald West. Harrison had served for many years as president of the Shiloh Cemetery Association and was very proud to have been a member of the 1960-61 Alto Football team that had an undefeated regular season. Harrison was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Cheryl Thomas Black, grandson Tyler Harrison Holcomb Black and sisters Dorothy McClure and Martha Ray Holcomb. Harrison is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Stacy Black (Kori) of Rusk and Ty Black (Elsa) of Tyler, sister Alva Joy Jones of Mineola, sister-in-law Marsha Thomas Smith of Alto and grandchildren Lindsey Black, Tessa Black, Iris Salazar, Emily Black and Rachel Black. Pallbearers are Bob Jones, Ryan Ball, Trevor Keener, Hunter Keener, Robert Holcomb and Jeremy West.
