Memorial services for Glen W. Willhite, 82, of Nacogdoches and formerly Alto and Newellton, Louisiana will be Saturday, April 9, at 2 PM in the O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Chapel in Alto with Rev. Earnie Mayes and Rev. Bobby King officiating. The family will receive visitors from 1 PM until service time on Saturday. Mr. Willhite passed away Monday morning in Nacogdoches. He was born December 29, 1939 in Newellton, Louisiana to James M. Willhite Sr. and Etta Mae Hart Willhite. Glen had lived most of his life in Louisiana, lived in Alto for 25 years and Nacogdoches most recently. Glen had been a member and deacon of the Old Palestine Baptist Church and most recently he had attended the First Christian Church in Nacogdoches. Glen had worked many jobs through the years including being a contractor, farmer and managing rent houses. He had also served in the U.S. Army and enjoyed hunting and gardening vegetables and flowers. Glen was preceded in death by wife Patricia Willhite as well as 8 brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Andy And Connie Willhite of Newellton, Randy and Amy Willhite of Cushing and Richard and Chona Willhite of Nacogdoches, sisters Emma Louise Dowda of Ruston, Louisiana and Janet Ward of Jackson, Mississippi, grandchildren Monica Merritt, Laura Dupuy, EmmaGrace Willhite, Colton Willhite, Drake Willhite, Gage Willhite and Eli Willhite, great grandchildren Devin, Chasity, Abby, Dakota and Joseph and great great grandchildren Eli, Asher and Avery.
