Obituary

A Graveside service for Geraldine Shonfarber, 94, of Vivian, Louisiana will be Friday May 5th, 2023 at 1pm at the Isabell Chapel Cemetery near Mt. Enterprise.

Geraldine Fenton Shonfarber was born in Cushing, Texas October 15th, 1928 to Fred Fenton and Nora Pierce. Her siblings are Odis Ray Fenton, Betty Baker and husband Doc Baker, Jo Ann Webb and husband Gene Webb. Her children are Chester Duncan and wife Brigitte Cross, Michael P. Duncan and wife Sveta Duncan, Patricia Schuler and husband Kenny Schuler. She also has 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. In World War II she met Willard Duncan in Houston, Texas and married in 1944. She lived in Portland, Oregon, Louisiana, and Texas. Her husband died in 1980 and she later met and married John Schonfarber. They lived in Blanchard, Louisiana until their later years. They both moved into the Vivian Health Care center until her death at age 94 on May 1st, 2023. She loved her family and dancing at The Boat in Louisiana. Her favorite meal was a small hamburger and fries from McDonalds. She was a great mother and love life to the fullest. She was always on the go!
