Gerald Parker Obituary

Funeral services for Gerald Gene Parker, 62, of Nacogdoches will be 11:00 AM  Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Dickie Allen Funeral Home in Cushing. Gerald Gene Parker passed away this Saturday in Tyler, Texas. Gerald Parker was born March 26, 1959 to Arthur Parker and Sandra Horth Wright in Houston, Texas. At an early age Gerald developed a curiousness about how things worked. When the family received their radio, Gerald took it apart just to see how it worked. He carried that talent along with him into his adult life. Gerald was a highly skilled mechanic and could fix anything relating to cars. He was also that way in the house. He became an electrician and remained so for over 30 years. Towards the end of his career his superiors at his company wished for "100 more just like him." He was more agile and had more energy than his younger coworkers, not to mention know-how. He was also a talented chef. Gerald could cook anything and enjoyed it, too.  He would have liked to open his own restaurant after his retirement. Gerald loved to watch scary movies even though it was getting more difficult to find true scary movies anymore. He loved his fur family as well (cats and dogs). Most importantly, Gerald enjoyed spending quality time cooking for his family and loved ones. A mighty warrior in God's Army, a follower of Jesus Christ, he is now residing with our Heavenly Father. He was preceded in death by his father, James Wright who was like a Dad to Gerald, brothers Ricky and Don, sister Vicky, and nephew Jeremiah. He is survived by his mother Sandra Horth Wright, daughter Lanna (and husband Paul) Pedota of Nacogdoches, brothers Alan (and wife Pat) Parker, David Dry, Michael Parker, sister-in-law wife to Don, Tammy Parker, sisters Rhonda (and husband Donald) Hartman, Shannon (and husband Edward) Belyeu, Jamie (and husband Earl) Gill, Robin (and husband JR) Rosenbaum, Karen (and husband Steven) Samford, and Mary (and husband Faron) Moore; and sweet nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Timothy Hartman, Kevin Hartman, Logan Samford, JR Rosenbaum, Gary Wayne Vaughn, and Joshua Roberts.
