Funeral services for Edward Hilton Oliver, 80, of Nacogdoches, will be 1:00 pm Friday, March 5, 2021 at Dickie Allen Funeral Home in Cushing. Edward Hilton Oliver was born December 17, 1940 to Velma Stevenson and Geneva Madiline Oliver in Apple Springs, Texas. He grew up in Avinger with six sibling by his side. He worked for Brown and Root for over 35 years as a pipe fitter and welder; he enjoyed his working. But his love did not fade there. Most of all, he loved his family. He enjoyed "42", dominoes, tending to his plants, going on cruises and listening to music of all types. Every night he would sit down to enjoy his favorite dessert: cookies and cream ice cream. He was a member of Bethany Baptist until his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Larry Edward Oliver, brother, Charles Henry Oliver, sisters Tempee Ann Hutcherson and Elaine Mosley; grandsons, Charles Brandon Cook and Marcus Lowell Peacock; and great grandson, Logan Eliase Oliver. He is survived by son Jimmy Wayne Oliver and wife Debra, of Atlanta, Texas; daughter, Geneva Whitehead and husband Robert, of Cushing; brother, Bob Oliver and wife Imagene of Avinger; sisters Polly Sue Matthews and Paul Howard, of West Palm Beach, Florida; and, Josephine Renfro of Etoile; and, daughter-in-law, Debera Oliver of Hillister. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. He made an impact in the world he leaves behind; he will truly be missed by those that knew and loved him. Pallbears will be Matt Grissom, Doug Rhoudes, David Maynard, Tristan Johnson, John Doss, and Paul Howard. Honorary pallbearers will be the Men of Bethany Baptist Church.
