Funeral services for Dottie Ovonne Williams, 75, of Cushing, Texas will be 2:00 pm Friday, February 25, 2022 at Dickie Allen Funeral Home in Cushing. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm  to 2:00 pm just prior to the service on Friday. Dottie Ovonne Williams passed away February 23, 2022 in Tyler, Texas. Dottie Williams was born October 1, 1946 to Jack Williams, Sr. and Dorothy Williams in Jacksonville, Texas. Dottie graduated high school and nursing school in Jacksonville, Texas. She married Freddie Alden Williams February 25, 1966. They moved to Lufkin, Athens, then Terrell, Texas where they lived for 25 years and raised a family. Dottie grew up in the Baptist church and was a lover of Jesus Christ, selfless, and caring for others' needs over her own. She was full of life and enjoyed traveling all over world and the United States. Her travels included but were not limited to Africa, Greece, Spain, Isreal, and Alaska. Dottie, as former high school basketball player herself, really enjoyed going to basketball games. Spending time with family was one of her greatest joys. Whether it was taking her children and grandchildren to the lake or riding with them on the 3-wheeler, her adventurous nature was evident. Dottie was hospitable and delighted in entertaining and cooking for friends and family alike. Dottie loved attending gatherings of all types.  She was a great cook and known for her pecan pies and peanut brittle. She was an active and proud member of the Landmark Baptist Church in Cushing. During her career, Dottie worked as a nurse, a secretery for Terrell and Nacogdoches schools, at the Family Dollar in Cushing, and the Texas Bank and Trust in Cushing. Her family summed up exactly who Dottie, wife and mother, was to them: "the most selfless, courageous, strong, God-fearing, grace-filled, merciful, compassionate, forgiving, adventerous, loving woman I know!! She is a prayer warrior...fills the room with joy, fun and rays of sunshine as she truly reflects her God, her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." She "loved well." She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Jack Williams, Jr. She is survived by her husband, of 56 years, Freddie Alden Williams of Cushing, son Flint Alden Williams and friend Kyra Rose of Austin, daughter Kimmy and husband Bubba Watkins of Bullard, and sister Barbara Jean Spencer of Winnie. Dottie also leaves to cherish her memory grandchildren Forrest Alden Williams, Charlie Alden Williams, Makynzie Makay and husband Jeffrey Albright, and Makayla Renae Watkins; and, great grandchildren Luke Houston Albright and Sage Anne Albright.
