Del Roy Armstrong

Funeral services for Del Roy Armstrong, 88, of Cushing, Texas will be Friday January 6th, 2023 at 2pm at the Dickie Allen funeral home chapel. Visitation will be two hours prior to services also at the funeral home. Mr. Armstrong died Sunday January 1st, 2023 in Tyler, Texas. He was born July 9th, 1934 in Henderson, Texas to Claude Edward and Rosie Lillie Freeman Armstrong. He lived in Cushing since 1994 having moved from Orange, Texas. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He loved his ranch and raised cattle including Longhorns. He was a member of Old First Orange Baptist Church in Orange, Texas and he attended Lilly Grove Baptist Church in Nacogdoches. He was a 33rd Degree Mason as a member of the Masonic Lodge in Bridge City, Texas lodge number 1345. He also visited the Lodge in Cushing and was a member of the Scottish Rite and a Shriner. He is preceded in death by his parents, previous spouse Johnelle Armstrong who died in April of 2010; as well siblings Merry Lee Morse, Aubrey Armstrong, Thurman Armstrong, Marie Fisher, and Willie Armstrong. He is survived by his wife Nancy Armstrong of Cushing, Texas; son and daughter-in-law Brad and Cheryl Armstrong of Bryan, Texas; brothers J.B. Armstrong of Timpson, Texas, Glassel Armstrong of Houston, Texas and David Armstrong of Houston, Texas; grandchildren Cameron Armstrong Van Norman and husband Luke and Jonathan Armstrong; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Interment will take place after the funeral at Nat Cemetery.
