Darrell Lyn Dawson

Darrell Lyn Dawson, aged 66, peacefully passed away into the arms of our Heavenly Father on May 13, 2024. Darrell was born on September 29, 1957, to Buddy and Barbara Dawson in Nacogdoches, Texas. Despite being hard of hearing, Darrell accomplished a great deal, graduating from Grand Prairie High School in 1978. His determination and resilience were evident as he finished his last two years of high school at Grand Prairie despite the challenges. An exceptional and gifted mechanic, Darrell had the ability to fix almost anything on any vehicle, showcasing his remarkable skills and expertise. During the 70s Darrell was part of a deaf church choir that traveled around, singing songs in sign language at various churches, spreading joy and inspiration wherever they went. Darrell is survived by his beloved girlfriend Maryann Hawkins, whom he adored deeply, along with his parents Buddy and Barbara Dawson, sister Debbie Rhodes and brother-in-law Ken Rhodes, brother Dale Dawson and sister-in-law Lori Dawson, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Funeral Service will be held at Dickie Allen funeral home: 989 7th street Cushing, Texas and graveside to follow at Lynn Flat cemetery on Saturday May 18, 2024 at 10:00am, to celebrate the life of Darrell Dawson.

A visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30-10:00 at the funeral home.
