Alto Funeral services for Clarice Mitchell-Jackson, 62, of Alto will be Friday, September 24, at 3 PM at the New Hope Baptist Church in Alto with Bro. Chester Whitaker officiating. Clarice passed away Saturday, September 18, in Alto. She was born March 14, 1959 in Rusk Texas to Willie B. Mitchell and Ozetta Thacker Mitchell. Clarice lived most of her life in Alto and had lived in Topeka, Kansas for a short time. Clarice attended school in Alto and had worked for the Rusk State Hospital and various home health agencies. She was united in holy matrimony with the late Thomas Earl Jackson and to this union 2 children were born. She was preceded in death by her parents Willie B. and Ozetta Mitchell, husband Thomas Earl Jackson, brother Willie Earl Mitchell and sisters Angela Marie Mitchell, Gloria Bruton and Vicki Mitchell. She leaves to cherish her memories sons Timothy Mitchell and Lorenzo Jackson, brothers Thomas Mitchell, Carlton Mitchell and John Mitchell, sister Kimberly Mitchell, grandchildren Taylor, Dylan, D’Onte, Maquela, Landyn, TimMaya, Tytiana, Timothy Jr. and Ren, aunts Lorine Ogletree, Lois Griffin, Ola Thacker, Odessa Buckingham and Mary Mitchell, uncle Ellis Mitchell, brother-in-law Curtis Jackson and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Clarice had a smile that could light up a room and she never met a stranger. Visitation will be Thursday from 1-6 PM at the funeral home in Alto.
