Charles Lewis Thomas

A private graveside service was held Saturday, April 25th, at the Alto City Cemetery for Charles Lewis Thomas, 86, of Alto. Mr. Thomas passed away Thursday, April 23, 2026 in Alto, Texas. He was born December 13th, 1939 in Jacksonville, Texas to Lewis Thomas and Francis Christian Thomas. Mr. Thomas had grown up in Alto and graduated from Alto High School. He received a band scholarship as a trumpet player from Kilgore Jr. College where he later graduated. He was married to his wife Veda and moved to Dallas to live. Several years later they moved to Houston where they eventually opened Thomas Photo Lab. Charles was a member of the Church of Christ. He and Veda had been back in Alto since 2008. He is preceded in death by his parents and his son David Thomas. Charles is survived by his wife of 65 years Veda Pike Thomas, daughter Cristy Wright and grandsons Christopher Wright, Benjamin Thomas and Dawson Thomas.
