Carol Allen Obituary

Graveside Services will be Sunday September 5th, 2021 at 12pm at Helpenstell Cemetery near Nacogdoches. No formal visitation is scheduled. 
 
 
 
Carol Maitland Allen passed away August 31, 2021 in Kingwood, Texas. She was born July 13, 1949 in Newport, Washington to Wayne and Avis Helpenstell Maitland. She lived for a short time in the Lone Pine area which is near Camp Tonkawa. She loved restoring cars, collecting tigers, listening to Patsy Cline and she generously donated to St. Jude and the Shriners Hospital. She had a heart of gold. Carol and Frank restored old cars together and even converted a 4106 Greyhound bus into an RV that they traveled in after it was finished. They even went from N.C all the way to California in that bus. Carol once entered her prized 56 Ford sunliner in a car show once. That was a car that they restored. Carol Frank and their daughter Connie Jean traveled all over North America. Priest River Idaho was one of Carols favorite places to visit. Her and Frank had their honeymoon there as well. Carol and Frank were married August 9 1987. Carol also enjoyed finding treasures at flea markets. "Let's go get some fleas" She would say. Yard sales too. Her pride and joy was her children and grandchildren. Her love of music was a big variety. Patsy Cline,(Carol even danced with Patsy husband Charlie Dick ) Ann Murray, Jim Reeves,(she even got to meet Jim Reeves wife) Carol has also visited Germany and been to Hawaii. She loved Hawaii got to go twice. Carol started her days by drinking her coffee and read one of her books then go get her cereal or oatmeal. "Oatmeal sticks to your ribs better" she would say. Carol would do for others without a thought for herself in a heartbeat. Carol also had a love for motorcycles. When she renewed her drivers license She still kept up with her motorcycle license as well. Carol blessed all those that were around her with her humor and loving kindness.  She is preceded in death by her parents. Her sister Cynthia Parker, and brother Jeffrey Maitland.   She is survived by her husband Frank Allen of New Caney, Tx; daughters Shirley and Alan Howard of Canyon Lake, Tx and Connie Jean Rahilly of New Caney, Tx; sons, Ross and Terry of Blair, S.C., Larry and  Belinda Allen of York, S.C.; brothers David Maitland of Highlands, Tx and Alan and Elaine Maitland of San Antonio, Tx; grandchildren Kevin Conner, Lauren Conner, Joshua Castillo, Brandon Burney, Carl Hubbard, and Ashley Monceaux, Frank Allen, Charley Allen, Julia Allen, Lindsay Allen, William Allen Crystal Allen. as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
