Billie Jean (Thomas) Owens

Billie Jean (Thomas) Owens, 95, of Mt. Enterprise, Texas, passed away on December 19, 2025, at UT Health in Tyler, Texas.  Billie is under the care of Dickie Allen Funeral Home in Cushing, Texas. Services will be held on Friday, December 26, 2025, at 2:00 P.M., at Dickie Allen Funeral Home in Cushing, with Bro. Johnny Penny Officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service, from 1:00-2:00 P.M. Burial will follow at Lyles-Sanders Cemetery in Mt. Enterprise.

Billie Jean Thomas was born in Nacogdoches, Texas to Will and Hattie (Ash) Thomas, on September 20, 1930. She Attended school in Mt. Enterprise, Texas and at age 16, married her husband Dewey Milfred Owens.  They were married on August 1, 1947, in Greenwood, Louisiana. Billie enjoyed being a homemaker and loved to knit and can vegetables from her garden, as well as spend time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Milfred Owens; son, Dewey Russell Owens; parents, Will and Hattie (Ash) Thomas.

She is survived by her son, Jerry Owens; daughter, Gloria Cockerham and husband Ron; daughter-in-law, Jane Owens; 5 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
