Betty Joyce (Pritchard) Alexander

Betty Joyce Alexander, 79, of Weches, Texas passed away on Friday, June 13th at a Tyler nursing facility due to complications from Lymphoma. Betty was born on June 23rd, 1945 in Conroe, Texas to John Charles “Bill” Pritchard and Marie Madeline Frost Pritchard. She married the love of her life, Carl Basil Alexander, Jr. in 1962. They traveled the United States in service to the US Coast Guard, raising two daughters, Loretta and Laura. They retired to Weches in 1980. She was a proud homemaker who loved baking, cake decorating, sewing, thrifting and flower arranging. Betty was a member of the Weches Baptist Church. Betty is survived by her daughter Laura (Stephen) Fillippa; grandchildren Stephen (Kaylea) Rayleigh, Dr. Emerson Fillippa, Elizabeth Fillippa; and great-granddaughter Maxine Rayleigh; as well as her brother, Lonnie (Shirley) Pritchard. Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl; her parents; and siblings Marcellas Hicks, Kelton Pritchard and Jonnie Pritchard. Donations may be made to Hospice of East Texas in her honor. The funeral will be held Saturday, June 28th at  3PM, in the O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Chapel in Alto with a brief committal service to be held in the Weches Cemetery afterwards. The family will receive visitor from 2PM – 3PM at the funeral home before the service.
