Barbra M Heavner

Barbra M. Heavner, 97, passed away Monday, December 25, 2023 at The Belmont Health and Rehabilitation in Columbus, Indiana. Barbra was born May 23, 1926 in Dallas, Texas to parents Martin K. and Jessie L. Scott.

She married Gordon W. Heavner Sr. on October 17, 1945 in Los Angeles, California, and he preceded her in death on October 13, 2004.

Barbra was a long time member of Sandy Hook United Methodist Church as well as a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Columbus Chapter #339.

She was a homemaker for most of her life, but worked as a dressmaker for a number of years. She was also a talented author with four published books.

Barbra is survived by her sons, George A. Heavner of New Hampshire and Gregory S. Heavner of Columbus; 5 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Gordon W. Heavner Jr. and Gilbert S. Heavner; sister, Norma J. Masek; and brothers, Martin J. Scott and Lee Scott.
