Funeral services for Alma Bobbitt Wallace, 95, of Alto will be Friday, November 8, at 2 PM, at the A. Frank Smith United Methodist Church in Alto with Rev. John Black officiating. Burial will follow at the Lynches Chapel Cemetery near Alto. Mrs. Wallace passed away Tuesday in Tyler. She was born August 11, 1924 in Weches, Texas to William Ernest Bobbitt and Zenith Pyle Bobbitt. Alma grew up in the Weches Community and lived the rest of her life in Alto. She married Charlie Frank Wallace in 1946 and was a homemaker, mother and grandmother. She was a longtime member of the A. Frank Smith Methodist Church where she was involved with many different church activities, most notably the choir, the Fidelis Sunday school class and the hospitality committee. She also was the director of the Downtown Mission Center for a number of years that provided clothing and food for area families in need. Alma was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Frank Wallace. She is survived by son Freddie Wallace (Sandy) of Alto, daughter Cynthia Johnson (Freddy) of Alto, grandchildren Amy Clugston (Steve), Drew Wallace (Shelley), Emily Robertson, Courtney Landrum (Heath) and Cole Johnson, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Blake Robertson, Jared Johnson, Charlie Wallace, Jackie Wallace, Taylor Guinn and Bubba Harris. Visitation will be Friday from 1 PM until service time at the church. Memorials may be made to the A. Frank Smith Methodist Church building fund.
