Funeral services for Zina Akin Perry, 69, of Rusk will be Sunday, December 20, at 2 PM in the Dickie Allen Funeral Home Chapel in Cushing with Rev. Shak Arrington officiating. Burial will follow at the Atoy Cemetery near Rusk. Zina passed away Tuesday, December 15, in Jacksonville. She was born August 3, 1951, in Henderson, Texas to Hudman Akin and Fannie Paulee Irwin Akin. Zina lived in Rusk for many years and worked as a librarian for Rusk ISD and TDCJ. She had operated a daycare for many years prior and was a member of the Rusk Church of Christ. Zina was preceded in death by her parents, husband Mike Perry, daughter Raina Perry and brother Jimmy Akin. She is survived by sons Shae Perry of Rusk, Cody Perry and wife Chanda of Rusk, brother Jerry Akin and wife Sandra of Rusk and grandchildren Macey Perry, Morgan Perry and Marissa Perry. Pallbearers are Alan Akin, D.J. Joyner, Thomas Frohne, Darryl Joyner, Dee VanCamp and Bobby Nichol. Honorary pallbearer will be Dylan Sprayberry. There will be a visitation Sunday from 12:30 PM until service time at the funeral home.
