Obituary

Mrs. Zeffie D. (Pope) Mumphrey was born March 29, 1927 to the late Mr. Adde Pope and Mrs. Annie Laura (Ross) Pope in Houston County. She then later moved to Weeping Mary Community.

Mrs. Mumphrey later in life married Mr. Felton Mumphrey Sr. in 1956. This union brought 6 children. Linda Mumphrey Skinner preceded in death by Johnny Skinner (Husband) Melvin and Maggie Mumphrey, Ella Mumphrey, Virginia and Lewis Skinner, Michael Ray and Pam Mumphrey. She was preceded in death by her son and daughter in law, Felton Mumphrey Jr and Blondria Griffin Mumphrey.

Mrs. Mumphrey worked at the Bass Lumber yard and Texas forest service. She also was a faithful member of Weeping Mary Baptist Church. She ran the Stars of Harmony program and loved doing it. Mrs. Mumphrey lived a beautiful life with her family, who she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband Felton Mumphrey Sr., her parents Adde and Annie Laura Pope, brothers Emory Pope, Joseph (Joe) Pope, A.F. Pope, J.T. Pope, and Flordia Pope, sisters Essie B. Thacker, Ardie D. Thacker, and Lucille Pope, son and daughter in law Felton Mumphrey Jr. and Blondria Griffin Mumphrey, and great grandchild Devonte Mumphrey.

She leaves to cherish her memories; her children Linda Skinner- Rest in Heaven Johnny Skinner (husband), Melvin and Maggie Mumphrey, Virginia and Lewis Skinner, Ella Rea Mumphrey, Michael Ray and Pam Mumphrey, brother Jack Pope and Alberta, sister Addie Helen Pope, 16 Grandchildren, 21 Great- Grandchildren, 2 Great, Great -Grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Active Pallbearers will be James Benton Jr., Randy McCrea, Derek Mumphrey, Ronterreal Mumphrey, Lewis O'Neal Mumphrey, Malcolm Mumphrey, and Javonttie Mumphrey. Honorary Pallbearers will be Javieontae Mumphrey, Courtney Mumphrey, Michael Ray Mumphrey, Jr., Cedric Pope, Lane Pope, and Lee Thacker
