A graveside funeral service for Wayne Hyde, 68, of Douglass will be held Wednesday, March 3, at 11 AM in the Douglass Cemetery. Mr. Hyde passed away Sunday, February 28, in Nacogdoches, Texas. He was born November 3, 1952, in Lufkin, Texas to Burt Owen Hyde and Ruby Mae Bridges Hyde. Wayne lived in Douglass for 42 years and grew up in the Herty Community outside of Lufkin. He worked for Lufkin Industries for 16 years and for Tyson Poultry Farms for 12 years. Wayne loved hunting and fishing and spending time at his beach house on Treasure Island near Freeport. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Sheila. Wayne is survived by his wife Betty Hyde of Douglass, daughter Nicole Peacock and husband Paul of Douglass, son Kelly Hyde and wife Shalana of Lufkin, brothers Talmadge Hyde and wife Sherrie of Lufkin and Jerry Hyde and wife Phyllis of Pollok and grandchildren Weston Hyde, Kylee Hawk, Hayden Hyde and Cooper Peacock. Pallbearers will be Paul Peacock, Kelly Hyde, Ronald Rogers and Ronnie Reagan. No visitation is scheduled but flowers can be delivered to the funeral home in Alto Tuesday until 4:30 PM.
