Vonnie B. Elsberry Dickie Allen Funeral Home - Cushing, TX (936) 326-4531 Cushing - Funeral Services for Vonnie B. Elsberry, 84, of Cushing will be Friday May 20th at 3pm at the Dickie Allen Funeral Home in Cushing, Texas with Rev. Ronnie Newton officiating. Burial will be at the McKnight Cemetery in Cushing. Mrs. Elsberry died Wednesday, May 18th, in Nacogdoches. She was born January 2, 1932 in Cushing to Ernest Williams and Vennie Chancelor Williams. Mrs. Elsberry lived in Cushing most of her life and had lived in Houston for about 18 years. She had worked as secretary and bookkeeper for Cushing ISD for many years and was a member of the McKnight Congregational Methodist Church all of her life. She had been involved with the PTA, serving as President while living in Houston and was co-owner and operator of the V.E. & H. Grocery in Cushing for several years. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as sisters Pearl Button, Mavis Skinner and Faye Perry and cousin Hudie Gresham. Survivors include daughter Denise Wallace (Tinker) of Central Heights, sons Buz Elsberry (Sandra) of Cushing and West Elsberry (Angela) of Central Heights, grandchildren Duane White, Wensdi Eggebrecht (Brian), Karri Weiser, Dude Elsberry (Stephani) and Chris Elsberry as well as 9 great grandchildren. Pallbearers are Duane White, Michael White, Tristan White, Dude Elsberry, Brian Eggebrecht, Chris Elsberry and Buck Smelley. Visitation will be Friday from 1-3 PM at the funeral home before the service.
