Funeral services for Vernie Lee Netherton, 92, of Douglass, Texas will be Friday January 6th at 9am at the Dickie Allen funeral home chapel. No visitation is scheduled. Mr. Netherton died Sunday January 1st, 2023 in Douglass, Texas. He was born July 5th, 1930 in Eakly, OK to John Alfred and Mamie Ruby McGlathery Netherton. He moved with his wife Lois to Douglass in 2001. he was a member of the Cushing Church of Christ and loved hunting and fishing. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Lois Netherton, daughter Lois "Ann" Bolin, and numerous brothers and sisters. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law Don and Lori Netherton of Grapeland, Tx and Jerry and Tammy Netherton of St. Maries, Idaho; daughter Norma Jean Peck of Pasadena, Tx; brothers Johnnie Netherton of Dill City, OK and Henry Netherton of Lufkin, Tx; as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Interment will follow the funeral service at McKnight Cemetery in Cushing.
