Graveside funeral services for Verna Irene Shipley, 90, of Forney and formerly of New Salem will be Monday, August 3rd, at 10 AM at the New Salem Cemetery near Reklaw, Texas with Rev.David Snelson officiating. Mrs. Shipley passed away Thursday, July 30th, in Forney, Texas. She was born October 27, 1929 in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Elmer Isaac and Neva Collins Isaac. Mrs. Shipley had lived in New Salem for about 20 years and had been in Forney for the last 4 years. She was a homemaker and had also worked at a sewing factory in Dallas. She had been a member of the New Life Tabernacle in Jacksonville. Verna was preceded in death by husband Marvin Shipley, daughters Dora Lusty and Connie Cox, sister Ilene Walker and brother Jerry Isaac. She is survived by sons Phil Shipley (Martha) of Tennessee, Jess Shipley (Vicki) of Seagoville and Roger Shipley of Farmersville, brother Albert Isaac of Nebraska, 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. No visitation is scheduled.
