Obituary

Memorial services for Tracy Blake Parker, 67, of Alto will be Saturday, May 14, at 11 Am, in the Campground Baptist Church near Alto with Bro. Steve Parker officiating. Tracy passed away Tuesday, May 10th in Groveton. He was born July 2, 1954 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Albert Parker and Geneva Wright Parker. Tracy grew up in Shreveport and had lived in Lufkin for 18 years and Alto for the last 17 years. He had worked most recently as an RN for Hospice of the Pines and formerly worked for Nacogdoches County in Probation and Parole and for the Texas Department of Corrections for the Office of the Inspector General. Tracy was Baptist and loved fishing, his kids and grandkids as well as his dog Pete. He fondly remembered summers spent with his cousins in Oklahoma as a youth. Tracy was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by wife Melanie Burrows Parker of Alto, Daughters Selena Cabrera and husband Jacob of Alto and Emily Parker of Tyler, brother Michael Hugh Parker and wife Sue of Shreveport, mother-in-law Lou Cates of Alto, grandchildren Jaxon Cabrera, Aiden Cabrera, Colin Cabrera and Gabby Cabrera, nephews Steve Parker and wife Angela and children Layla, Charlotte, Emily and Zach and Michael Parker and wife Sheila and daughter Zora. The family wishes to thank Tracy's special friends as well as all his caregivers including the Groveton Nursing Home staff and Traditions Hospice staff.
