Obituary

Funeral services for Thomas E. "Tommy" Williams, 76, of Lufkin and formerly of Alto will be Saturday November 4th, at 2pm at the O.T. Allen & Son funeral home chapel. Visitation will be Saturday from 12 noon until service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Shiloh Cemetery in Alto. Thomas went to his heavenly home by the grace of Jesus Christ, October 31st, in Lufkin. He was born May 1, 1941 in Rockdale, Texas to Allen Weldon Williams and Ella Frances Wolf Williams. He had lived in Alto for many years and Lufkin for the last 40 years. He graduated from Alto High School in 1959 and attended Stephen F. Austin University. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Tommy owned and operated the Dairy Treat in Alto for 5 years during the 70's and later retired from American Color Graphics where he had worked for 27 years. Tommy loved football and the Alto Yellowjackets and was an avid golfer. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Kenneth Williams and sister Charlotte Gholston. Those left to cherish his memory include Wife of 49 years Martha Clifton Williams of Lufkin, daughter Angie Williams of Baytown, son Trent Williams of Lufkin, brother Michael Williams (Beth) of Austin, sister Carol Wallace of Alto, grandchildren Aimee, Genna, Olivia, Ahnyka and Aayden and 7 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Brad Wallace, Phil Williams, Terry Killingsworth, Harold "Sonny" Clifton, Dean Mosley, Steven Lyons, Joe Jones, and Roy McMullen. Honorary pallbearers are Dwight Lyons, Bush Smitherman, Doug Maddux, Tom Dubose, John Pouland, Mike Myers, Jim Williams, Roy Cates, and the class of 1959.
