Obituary

Funeral services for Sarah Skinner "Big Mama" Richardson, 76, of Alto will be Saturday, January 13, at 11 AM at the Weeping Mary Baptist Church near Alto. Burial will follow in the St. Thomas Chapel Cemetery.  Mrs. Richardson entered into her eternal rest Wednesday, January 3, at her home in Alto. She was born June 1, 1947 in Alto to Viola Skinner Jenkins and Willie Wiley. She was a member of the Weeping Mary Baptist Church and later became a member of the St. Thomas AME church. She was retired from the Rusk Nursing Home and Accentcare Home Health. She was very well know in the community and in the Alto School District while her grandchildren were in school. She enjoyed crafting, helping others and spending time with family and friends. Sarah is preceded in death by father Willie Wiley, siblings Mary Jenkins, Zetrick Jenkins, Cherry Jenkins and Raymond Jenkins, grandchildren Kash and Khloe' Richardson and great grandchild Aubri'Ella Hicks.

She leaves to cherish her memory, mother Viola Jenkins, husband Jethro Scott "Sonny", daughters Deloris Jenkins, Mae Lois Griffin and Yovonne Richardson, sons and daughters-in-law Michael and Deadria Richardson, Howard Richardson and Jackie Prentice, Derrick Dickerson and April Hollis, Ted and Jessica Richardson, brothers and sisters-in-law Larry Jenkins, George Jenkins, Robert Jenkins and Kellie Wilcox, Joe and Beverly Jenkins, Junior Jenkins and Araell and Donna Hampton, sisters and brothers-in-law Magaline Martinez, Ola and Lloyd Henry Pope and Marcel and Gaylon Taylor, aunt Icybell Skinner, grandchildren Larry, Michael, Demarcus, Elizabeth, Alexandria, Javante, Shamir, Katerra, KD, Sierra, Quaisha, Sarah, Nicholas, Kyndon, Kyeston, Khaleesi, Serenity, Tr'Necia, Voshon, Shylah, Tavia, Tionna, Diviniti, Destinee, Kashlyn, Ted Jr., Karrington and Krisslyn, 45 great grandchildren, special daughters Linda Peoples and Cynthia McCullough and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers are Stancy Skinner, Jeremy Skinner, Josh Skinner, Steven Warren, Anfernee Black and Jerry Moore. Honorary Pallbearers are Chad Pope, Terrance Coleman, Earnest White and Cody Melton. Visitation is Friday from 5-7 PM at the funeral home in Alto.
