Samuel Ortega, 59 went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 2, 2021. He was surrounded by his loved ones at home in Alto, Texas. He was born on October 15, 1961 in New Braunfels, Texas to Eufracia S. Ortega "Pache" and Jose L. Ortega "Pepe". Mr. Sam loved driving in the car listening to music seeing where the road would lead, barbequing, chilling on the river "We got tubers!", or just being together with friends and family. He had an exceptional way of engaging with people and was inspirational for the many paths he crossed. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Preceding him in death was his father and mother Jose and Eufracia Ortega. He is survived by his wife; Jennifer Ortega, daughters Alejandra Ortega, Samantha and son- in- law Daniel Soest, Step-sons Keller and Isaac. His greatest joy was being the "Pop-Pop" to his three grandchildren; Adam Samuel-Lee "Bugs", Eva Lucinda and Joseph Anthony. Sam will be cremated and the memorial service will be held privately.  The many messages of love, support and numerous prayers have helped the transition for our family.
