Russell (Rusty) Dean Harrison July 21, 1952 – March 16, 2026
Russell "Rusty" Dean Harrison, 73, of Cushing, Texas, was born in Dallas, Texas, on July 21, 1952, and passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026, at his residence.
Rusty graduated from W.W. Samuel High School in 1971. In 1972, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he served proudly for four years. He later dedicated 30 years to the Dallas County Sheriff's Department, retiring in 2013. Rusty had a deep love for music, guitars, motorcycles, classic cars, and all things Civil War. He was an active member of The Sons of Confederate Veterans Mt. Enterprise Camp #2311 and a Civil War Artillery Soldier Reenactor, operating his own battery with the 1st Texas Light Artillery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Chlotea Harrison, and his granddaughter, Victoria Grace Raines.
Rusty is survived by his loving wife, Melody Harrison of Cushing, Texas; daughters Jennifer Teague and husband Greg Teague of Kerens, Texas; April Raines and husband Ed Raines of Great Falls, Montana; and Rebecca Chavez and husband Marcus Chavez, along with their children, Maggie and Myles, of Mesquite, Texas. He is also survived by his grandson Cameron Lee and great-grandson Jaxson Lee of Kerens, Texas; brothers Joe Harrison and wife Jone Harrison of Flower Mound, Texas; Mike Harrison and wife Pam Harrison of Ennis, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Honorary Pallbearer: Rex Russell
Visitation: Friday, March 20, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Dickie Allen Funeral Home, Cushing, Texas. Funeral Service: Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Dickie Allen Funeral Home, Cushing, Texas, with Brother David Snelson Officiating. Interment: Cushing City Cemetery.
Military Honors will be provided by the United States Air Force, Barksdale Airforce Base.
