Obituary

Roy Hinson, 64, of Rusk, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Roy was born in Rusk, TX and lived there his entire life. He attended Maydelle School. Roy did farm and ranch work most of his life. Roy loved his chickens, which he has raised for many years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe and Gertrue Hinson, sisters, Jo Glover, Debbie Butler and Penny Hinson

Roy is survived by his daughters, Nicole Brasher (Terry), Janet Pierce, and Liz Hinson (Brian Westbrook), grandchildren, Jon, Chloe, Hannah, Gabe, Bailie, Gracie, and Silo, and sister, Donna Blakemore (Charlie).

Visitation will be Thursday, September 28, 2023, 6:00pm- 8:00pm at O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Home in Alto. The funeral service will be Friday morning, September 29, 2023, 10:00 am at O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Oakland.

Pallbearers will be Shannon Langston, Timothy Langston, Josh Langston, Jordon Langston, Anthony Tucker, and Brian Westbrook.

Memorials of flowers can be delivered to O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Home.

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the nurses of Enhabit Hospice Care of Tyler and special thanks to nurses Marsha Jones and Jennifer Smith and minister Ralph Johnson.
